Features

Everything a competent person needs to produce, approve and brief RAMS — in one place, enforced where it matters.

From the first hazard to the team’s briefing record.

Create your workspace

01 · Build with purpose

A consistent starting point. A job-specific assessment.

Bring reviewed hazards, controls and the method statement into one document. Reuse your company’s knowledge, then adapt it to the people, place and work in front of you.

  • Start from a reviewed library, template or existing assessment
  • Keep work steps, PPE, permits and emergency arrangements together
  • Assign additional controls to responsible people

Reviewed hazard: vehicle movements

Segregated pedestrian routes and a designated banksman.

Sequence of work

  1. 1Brief the team on the approved assessment
  2. 2Establish the pedestrian exclusion area
  3. 3Confirm access arrangements before deliveries

02 · Make the scoring consistent

Your matrix. A common language for risk.

Define what likelihood and severity mean for your company, along with the bands and actions you expect. Give assessors and reviewers the same basis for a discussion — not a substitute for judgement.

  • Configure all five likelihood and severity levels
  • Set company-specific risk bands and required actions
  • Approved documents retain the matrix they were scored against

Illustrative bands only. Your company defines its scales, bands and required actions. A score alone never makes work safe.

03 · Keep approval under control

A decision you can trace. A revision you can identify.

Send the assessment to a reviewer, record the decision and keep the approved version locked. Changes start a fresh revision, so the record does not quietly change after sign-off.

  • Approve or return with comments
  • Self-approval is blocked
  • Keep submissions, decisions and revisions in the audit history

04 · Connect the document to the site

The right briefing. On the team’s own phones.

Share the approved assessment with a link or QR code. Workers read and sign against that revision; point-of-work checks capture changed conditions and give flagged issues a visible follow-up.

  • No worker account or app installation needed
  • Signatures stay tied to the exact revision
  • Record site checks, photos and stop-work decisions

The details that keep everything connected

  • Your own 5 × 5 matrix

Define the likelihood and severity scales, the bands and the required actions for each band — so scores mean the same thing to everyone in your company.

Change the matrix in company settings and every new assessment uses it immediately, while approved documents keep the matrix they were scored against.

  • Reviewed hazard library

Assessors build from hazards your reviewers have already checked — no unsourced copy-and-paste. A starter construction and ERF library is included.

Hazards stay in the library only while they are reviewed; when a reviewer updates one, future assessments pick up the improved wording automatically.

  • Method statements built in

Work steps, plant and equipment, PPE, permits and emergency arrangements sit alongside the risk assessment in the same document.

One document to approve, one to brief, one PDF to hand over — no separate method statement held together with a stapler.

  • Locked, versioned documents

Approved documents cannot be edited. Changes create a new revision that needs fresh approval, and superseded versions stay readable for the record.

Document references and revision letters are generated for you, so the version on site is always identifiable.

  • Worker sign-on register

Every briefing signature is recorded against the revision, so you can prove who was briefed, and when.

Workers sign on their own phone through a shareable link or QR code — no accounts, no app to install.

  • Point-of-work checks

A short on-site check confirms conditions match the assessment, controls are in place and everyone is briefed — with photos and stop-work capture.

Flagged checks reach reviewers by email immediately and stay in the document history with how they were resolved.

  • Reminders that chase for you

Emails for pending approvals, upcoming review dates and flagged site checks — nothing slips quietly.

Reviewers are notified when an assessment is waiting for them; assessors are reminded before and after a review date passes.

  • Private company workspaces

Every company's data, files and PDFs are separated and permission-controlled, with four clear roles: administrator, assessor, reviewer and read-only viewer.

Permissions are enforced in the database, not just hidden in the interface — one company can never see another's documents.

Create your workspace

A numerical risk score never, on its own, makes work safe. Safety Genius RAMS supports competent people; it does not replace their judgement.
